PRIMARY CARE

A general internist is a physician who specializes solely in internal medicine. Internal medicine is the overall health care of the adult patient, excluding obstetrics. Focusing on a broader branch of medicine, this physician is involved in the diagnosis and treatment of general health issues and wellness.

Primary care is continuing and comprehensive personal medical care. It consists of preventive, diagnostic, therapeutic, curative, counseling, and rehabilitative care in a manner that is accessible and coordinated by your physician over time. Your primary care physician is working on the front line of the healthcare system and will take the initial steps to provide care for any health problems you may have.

At IMG, we provide the ongoing supervision of healthy individuals and will see patients for all types of symptoms, physical complaints, and illnesses. If the problem lies outside your physician's area of expertise, appropriate referrals will be made to another physician in or outside of the group.
