IMG Physician Assistant John Hartman is a skilled health care practitioner qualified by academic preparation and clinical experience to provide diagnostic services and patient care with the supervision of a clinic physician. He extends our ability to care for our patients.

In the office, John sees patients in the clinic, performs preoperative consultations for surgeons, and evaluates and treats patient problems. He may order diagnostic studies, and is able to prescribe medical treatment as delegated by the physician.

In the hospital, he may perform admission history and physical examination for newly admitted patients and initiate treatment in conjunction with the admitting physician.

Mr. Hartman joined IMG in 1975, having graduated from the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Physician Associate program with a B.S. in Medicine. He has subsequently completed the Master’s in Physician Assistant Studies degree through the University of Nebraska Health Sciences Center. His tasks within the clinic vary from seeing patients with acute medical problems to performing certain gastroenterology evaluations and some endocrinology evaluations.

Mr. Hartman is a charter member of the Wyoming Academy of Physician Assistants and has been nationally certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants since 1975. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Physician Assistants and an affiliate member of the American Gastroenterological Association.

Personal interests include serving on the planning committee of the Tour de Wyoming, an annual bicycle tour of Wyoming. He is active in the Cheyenne Ski Club and enjoys travel, reading and photography.

Amanda Diefenderfer, PA-C

Mrs. Diefenderfer joined IMG in 2004 as a Physician Assistant in cardiovascular medicine. She is a skilled health care practitioner qualified by academic preparation and national certification. She can initiate diagnostic services, interpret, and practice medicine with a supervising physician. Mrs. Diefenderfer provides an extension of the care along with the cardiologist. In the hospital, she provides admission history and physicals, consultations, and discharge in conjunction with the attending cardiologist. In the office, she helps with preoperative cardiac clearance, evaluates and treats established patients, and consultations. She supervises non-invasive testing in the clinic and hospital, such as exercise treadmill testing, stress echocardiogram, and nuclear stress testing.

Mrs. Diefenderfer received her Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science at the University of Toledo in Toledo, Ohio in 2000. She earned her Master of Medical Science to qualify for certification as a Physician Assistant from Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut in 2004.

Mrs. Diefenderfer has been nationally certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants since 2004. In addition, she is a fellow member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants and Wyoming Association of Physician Assistants. Amanda is also a Cardiac Care Associate Member of the American College of Cardiology.

Her personal interests include traveling, playing soccer, running, and water skiing.
