IMG HISTORY
IMG began in 1953 when Dr. David Flett opened his office in Cheyenne. Dr. Don Hunton joined his practice in 1961. Drs. Walt Schmid and Darryl Bindschadler joined the group in 1968 and 1969, respectively. Dr. Rick Davis joined the group in 1973.
That same year, the doctors incorporated and became IMG. In 1974, the IMG office building on 20th Street was built. Dr. Flett retired and has since passed away. In 1990, an addition was added onto the original building, doubling the space.
Since the incorporation of IMG in 1973, several physicians have joined the group. Each physician has joined with excellent credentials, some coming from academic careers, some from private practice, and others directly from training programs.
In 1992, a couple of exciting additions were made. IMG was awarded Medicare approval for the Wyoming Endoscopy Center, a freestanding outpatient ambulatory surgery center. The IMG Research Department was also created that year. The old office building on 20th Street was sold in February 2001. In August of that year, IMG moved to its current location, the medical office building attached to the Cheyenne Regional Medical Center (CRMC). The new facility gives patients better access to care and enables physicians to move easily between the office and the hospital.
IMG currently has thirteen partners and is still recruiting additional physicians.
